Is diary writing part of your New Year resolutions?

Diary writing has often been the chart topper of my New Year resolutions. By hook or by crook, I would write diary everyday. All of a sudden, one fine day, boredom set in and it marked the end of my diary writing sessions. Many of you could have had similar experiences. But you will not miss writing diary even once if you know its benefits. All that you need for writing diary is a beautiful diary and few minutes of your time everyday. But the benefits that it has in store for you are countless. So what is diary writing? Diary writing refers to an act of registering a day’s activities and events at the end of that day. There are various benefits in writing a diary. Firstly, it is a tool for self-expression. One can express oneself in his/her diary. This act serves as an outlet for all the grievances and pains in life. As a result, there is a sense of relief and peace. Secondly, it is a record. One can record the events in his or her life in a diary. He/she can have it as a future reference. One can later refer it for his/her stand over similar decisions and experiences in the past.

Moreover, it is a practice for writing. A person who writes diary everyday has better chances to develop his/her language and writing skills. It also involves the use of rotary memory technique. The writer recollects all the activities that he/she was involved from the morning till night. This improves the memory of the writer and also he or she comes to know about the value of time. A person can make an account of how the time gets wasted. And also, it is a creative act. The writer has to express herself/himself in the best possible way .This is because the diary has the space constraints. So he or she should find creative ways to fill their words in the limited space.

It also provides a sense of direction. It helps a person to keep a close watch on his efforts towards a particular end. In this way, an individual can avoid the pitfalls and see to it that his/her dreams see the day’s light. Lastly, it provides a good read. Often the audience for the diary is the writer himself. It is a tool where the creator himself is the audience. So it provides an interesting read for the writer himself. So what's more? get set to write diary everyday!

I still maintain a record of what's happening in my life. It's interesting to flip the pages and check, what happened last year or few years ago on the same day!

ya even I like comparing my position in life with the previous years'.Sometimes, I will leave space below a difficult day to indicate that the same day, next year, life will be better.
