Joining the Fitness bandwagon…………..

In recent years, fitness has become the buzzword right from the college campus to kitchen. Sadly, fitness is equated with skinny and stick-like look. Having been skin and bones all through my life, I have never fancied size zero (because mine was minus zero). Not much attention been given to the disappointments and anxieties of thin creatures even today. The focus is always on the physiological and psychological problems of over sized blessed (at least here) creatures. There are times when I used to crib for not been able to wear many traditional outfits. There are instances of being mistaken for a kid and having had to sit in someone’s lap if happened to travel in a packed auto rickshaw. All these and many more. It just took two years for things to turn upside down. Yes, after becoming part of the much coveted IT industry, I no longer have “size minus zero” I have bright chances to become a stockily built creature in the near future. In next to no time, fitness, exercise, dieting and calorie counts became my favorite buzzwords too. Just like my IT counterparts, I keep chanting these buzzwords and never follow any. I ride to my office everyday, use lift to reach the next floor, and visit eat-outs in the name of weekend getaways. What next? A warning signal from the body. The doctor has advised to involve myself into some fitness activity apart from staying away from junk food (saved for not being a foodie). Now I get closer to what I set out to write. Yes, I have joined the fitness bandwagon. Though I go easy on my intake, I walk for about half an hour in a park close by to my home five days a week. I take oats meal for my breakfast and never head towards the hot samosas or the heavy lunch at the office pantry. I can see the results in a matter of week. Hope to be in my own shape soon ‍
