Office Politics:A Glimpse of My Experience

Office Politics can at times, take a toll in our lives. In my few years of experience in the corporate world, I have grappled with such politics many a times. In my very first job, when I was fresh out of college, the first task in my hand was to come into terms with a team leader, who was highly innocent and immature. He had this habit of talking loudly about others and taking every small issue to the manager. When he displayed one such behavior towards me, I showed my displeasure promptly. From then onwards, he stopped talking loudly about me unnecessarily. On the other hand, I paid heed to his comments on my work and proved myself.Later, he became one of my best friends in the office. Then, I had a friend, who was extremely possessive about me.She wanted to know everything about others. She used to annoy others by shooting one question after another. Most of my colleagues hated her for acting as a spy in the office.

Then, I had another colleague, who was very kiddish and highly annoying. She used to tell a lots of lies and put the blame on others.Similarly, another senior colleague used to act very high highhandedly and throw tantrums on others. There are also people in every office who would hardly acknowledge your contributions and always highlight your short comings. I also have and had colleagues who are embodiment of negativity, and who will take up every mistake no matter what, to your superior. I have also seen colleagues who would burst a small problem and make it a big issue. But, at the end of the day, your work should speak for you. Is n't?Moreover, if you have supportive friends, you can tackle the office politics with ease.

Do you think that politics is being played in the office alone.
You can see this in your home ,friends circle too.
I believe life is like that ..

Yes very true! One can experience politics in all aspects of life. And of course, if politics is present in office, we can always speak and sort out. Moreover,if things are beyond a limit, there is always a way out, you can shift to some other department or in a worst case, move out of the job.I feel it is difficult in our personal lives.
