I can't imagine passing even one Saturday at home devouring whatever crap the TV channels dish out. When the weekend approaches, its time for me and my friends to plan for that week's outing. Little we know then that we are goanna spend all our hard earned money in some movie that bore us to death or in a restaurant exchanging a bland treat. Only when it turns Monday that we would realize that we have really blown all the money and that much awaited “Saturday” has actually made a big dent in our bank balance. We almost became addicted to weekend getaways that we can't help ourselves indulging in impulsive spending. Of late, I have realized how foolish am I to spend all the money on the spur of a moment. Can’t I really enjoy my weekends without blowing the budget? The sudden wisdom spurred the thought of planning for economical weekends. Here is a list of things that Weekend enthusiasts like me can follow to keep themselves occupied during weekends:
- Become a member of a nearby video library and rent few DVDs exclusively for weekend. Purchase economical yet yummy eateries such as popcorn, cotton candies, puffed rice etc Invite your friends to join you and enjoy a different movie watching experience with your friends. If you share the expense, this can prove to be the cheapest and finest way of passing the weekend.
- Visit a park that is center to all your friends and have a bash. This is economical and healthy too.
- Break your “Not Entering kitchen” policy and try your hands in various dishes. Involve your friends also in mixing, chopping, grinding and blending.
- Visit a coffee pub and order for only one glass of coffee (considering the budget) for all of you and have unlimited hours of gossip session.
- Visit a temple by using the public transport. (Remember, this can kill most of your time and also can bring lots of laurels from the elders’ side.)
- Lastly, choose a peaceful room, switch the AC on and get yourself into the blanket and get tuned to the dream world.

The bus idea is good. We should just travel in a bus that's likely to be empty.. from the 1st stop to the last stop, and back to the first stop... hehehee
That 'good sleep in air-conditioned comfort' idea is terrible.. nalla thoongina nalla weight podum...
he..he..he..true
o yes, bus ride is the best! if chennai bus depot issue day long passes, then one can hop off wherever one feels like and then catch the next bus which accepts the pass.
it is not that easy to commute in a bus.....we shd bear impolite conductors, mad crowd, hours of standing and sweating....But we shd board empty buses, then we can enjoy :)
